Happy Mother's Day!
It's May already, which means a special day for all our Moms. Yes, that’s right, 11th May is Mother’s Day. The day we all forget we have children to look after, and spend our day blissfully reclined, feet up, favorite book in hand, no hungry mouths to feed, just ourselves to indulge and pamper. Or so it goes....
If, like the rest of us, your reality is a little different, never fear. We have lots of fun stuff coming up at Twirl to brighten up your day.
Time to play outside !
You may have noticed some work going on in our outdoor courtyard. We’re having a revamp, and come the summer holidays, there’ll be another fun hangout for you to take the kids when they’re having a "Mom, I’m bored" kinda day. We’re currently working on a cool new climbing installation from Playsmart (check out their website www.playsmart.com if you want to learn more), a sculpture water play area, a soft and cushy baby play area in our newly turfed inner courtyard, a "shiver me timbers" pirate ship and other surprises. It should all be ready by June 1st (but we’ll confirm that in our next newsletter!)
Plus, Lindsy Solomon, of Taos Cow fame, will be a welcome addition to our courtyard, with her "Yo-Yo Noodles" cart!! She’ll be serving up yummy refreshments for hungry little people at play, and big ones too. There’ll be a choice of noodle dishes, cold drinks, baked goods and other delights, available Wednesday through Monday, 10.30 - 4.30pm. We can’t wait!
The idea behind the courtyard is that it becomes somewhere Moms feel they can drop in at any time with the kids for a play and general nosey to see who’s around. There’s absolutely no obligation to come into the store. We have a great space and we want to see it used and enjoyed. If anyone is interested in setting up some informal play dates there during the summer, we’ll get a sign-up sheet going in the courtyard.
