  Kidspace Field Trips    FREE!

Twirl Kidspace is striving to be an accessible place for teachers to take their students for curriculum enhancement. We are pleased to offer our Kidspace Exhibit Area as an opportunity for grades pre-K to Grade 2 and Grades 3 – 5 to learn, create and play off-campus in an inspiring and educational setting, on accompanied Kidspace Field Trips, FREE OF CHARGE.

In addition to self-exploration of our Exhibit Area, we will provide interactive activities based on our current highlighted exhibit, as well as some materials for pre- and post-visit classroom work. A new exhibit will be added each month through the end of the school year, with related monthly calendar topics.

The facilitator-led Kidspace Field Trips will be offered FREE OF CHARGE to all groups. We hope that area schools will make Twirl Kidspace a destination for their field trips. Please call Helen at 575-776-2880, or email: kidspace@twirlhouse.com. We look forward to your class visit and wish you a wonderful school year.

Field Trip Guidelines
We recommend a 90-minute time period for most Kidspace Field Trips. These visits include a Twirl staff-led activity followed by self-guided discovery time. During the self-guided discovery time throughout Kidspace, each exploration group must be guided by one or more chaperones that are at least 18 years old.
Please keep in mind that your group may be sharing the Kidspace with other children of different ages. Teachers have the option of allowing children to visit the toy store.

To schedule your visit, call Helen at 575-776-2880 or email kidspace@twirlhouse.com.

• Parking – There is free public parking on the west side of Camino de la Placitas adjacent to the Guadalupe Church.
• Lunch spots – If your children bring bagged lunches, you are welcome to eat in our courtyard.

Class Materials and Reading Lists

To help you get the most of your Kidspace field trip, we have created pre-visit activities for you to do with your class. These activities are designed to prepare and excite your students about the field trip and to motivate them to ask questions. After your visit to KIDSPACE, you can take home handouts provided by your facilitator to help the children reinforce and reflect on the concepts they explored while they were here.

We also have a recommended Reading List for Pre and Post-Visit Study. Any of the books featured in our Reading List are excellent material for both preparation prior to a field trip and reflection afterwards.
